Al Rafi Towers
Consisting of three towers linked by a four storey podium, this mixed-use building development is founded on a raft supported by piles. Geotechnical experts from Ramboll Whitbybird needed to refine the foundation structure by considering the soil structure interaction of the pile and raft foundation. With the use of a bi-directional testing program to assist, they have been able to reduce the load on the piles, hence producing the most efficient foundation design for this development and resulting in considerable cost-saving.
